Katran: Your industrial view of a perfect night out
The Tar Factory (“Katran”) was one of the few factories in the city centre where waterproofing membrane, metallic foils and bitumen sheets were produced. After the production was stopped, a large industrial complex - Katran turned into a home of several Zagreb’s nightclubs. DEPO club was created by a team of enthusiasts and professionals who founded the club with the capacity of 500 people and created a beautiful story from the old, dilapidated and abandoned space - a place that brings together the lovers of quality music and good times. Specifically, it brings together various music styles, from punk, rock and metal to swing, funk, disco, hip-hop and electronic music. The outer walls of DEPO club were painted by Chez, a young Croatian street and graffiti artist whose works decorate the streets of many Croatian and European towns.

This is yet another evidence that the opening of new places is the thing that Zagreb is actually craving for, and the clubs created in the place of the aforementioned factory are starting to prove themselves to be one of the best party places in town. Even though Zagreb as the metropolis has a significant number of nightclubs, those that can provide a local, who is now a far more demanding visitor, with the full service and a true blend of good music, genuinely creative story and affordable prices are still quite rare. Also, it is admirable and praiseworthy that certain individuals are responsible for turning the old, dilapidated and once abandoned space into a great place with a combination of various creative services incorporated into a good story.

In several old buildings, The Shock Show Industry association is currently running a real entertainment studio.
Night parties are usually held on two or three floors, and on Friday nights one of these floors stages live music while DJs try to make the crowd of mostly young people dance until the early morning on the other floors. The interior which is decorated as an amusing hospital clinic and incorporated in a defined and well-elaborated story is definitely worth highlighting. Therefore, replicas of medical equipment and various old furniture transformed into decorative objects can be easily found in this part of the club.
SUPER SUPER club is also one of the clubs located in the yard at Radnička 27. Along with its colourful and versatile programme, it strives to provide the same high-quality music.

Katran club is becoming somewhat of a cult place where every soul can find its place and spend some quality time. From the building materials factory, Katran’s location has been turned into a factory of creativity, production, events organization, entertainment and good music. If, for some reason, you have never set foot near Katran, now is the right time to explore this site and discover what's hidden there long after the production has been stopped. Your age doesn’t really matter, what truly matters is your good will and desire for having a good time. And a place like Katran can lead you on a journey through time straight to a place that from the outside reflects its past while on the inside it's a happy place where bright future awaits everyone who is ready to embrace it.
