Snow fell almost everywhere, including Zagreb. Although a new blanket of snow is not yet in sight, we have compiled a list of the most well-known and popular sledding spots in Zagreb for everyone who loves discovering new places and excitement. From Cmrok all the way to Sljeme - take a look at our list.
Cmrok
When sledding comes to mind, for many Zagreb residents, and for everyone who has come there to go sledding, one place immediately stands out: Cmrok! It is a spacious, beautifully maintained meadow that delights children every time they hop on their sleds. Cmrok is easily accessible; it is located near the very city centre, and you can get there by bus, by car, or on foot.
Maksimir
The most famous forest in the wider city centre hides plenty of meadows and small valleys perfect for sledding! When snow falls, Maksimir becomes one of the most magical places in Zagreb. In addition to winter activities, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of frozen lakes and the white surroundings.

The Sava Embankment (Savski nasip)
The Sava Embankment is ideal for sledding and snowy fun thanks to its long, gently sloping hills that are perfect for all ages. Its wide open space allows for safe play and plenty of room to enjoy winter activities. Plus, it’s easily accessible and close to many neighbourhoods, making it a favourite spot on snowy days.

Ribnjak
Ribnjak is perfect for sledding because of its gentle slopes, peaceful atmosphere, and central location. Surrounded by trees, it offers a charming winter setting that feels like a snowy escape in the heart of the city. Its easy accessibility and environment make it especially popular with families.
Jarun or Bundek
Jarun and Bundek are located in the newer, western part of Zagreb. Known for their lakes and scenic lakeside walks, they offer numerous opportunities for recreation and enjoying the fresh air, sledding included. After your activities, you can relax with your favorite hot drink in cafés located right next to the lakes.

Last, but definitely not least, Sljeme is one of the most exciting places when sledding comes to mind. You can also ski there, whether you are a professional or amateur skier. This hill is always popular in the wintertime, so be prepared for a lot of crowds.
