Unique Ways of Exploring Zagreb: Create Long-Lasting Memories and Challenge Yourself

If you find yourself in Zagreb and want to discover it in a unique way, we’ve got you covered. Here are some great things you can do that will make you remember Zagreb for eternity.

Petite, but beautiful – Zagreb is one of those cities you can see in fullness just by walking around for a couple of days. Still, there’s always something new to see and explore. It may be small in size, but it’s big in heart. If you let it in and approach it with an open mind, a desire to explore and soul-thirsty of wanderlust, I promise you Zagreb will embrace you with its welcoming arms. Besides magnificent architecture followed by historical stories of how this town came to be, you’ll also find special people who are proud to call themselves Zagrebians and would love to show you around. If you’re more on the wild side and want to take home some new experiences from Zagreb, I can suggest a few things that will absolutely make great stories. Buckle up, here we go!

Way up high, high in the sky

I don’t know about you, but growing up, I always thought evolution made a big mistake when it didn’t give humans wings. Maybe it’s silly, but ever since I was a little girl, I envied birds and butterflies for the ability to spread their wings and fly away, anyway they want to go. I remember the excitement I felt when I flew in an aeroplane for the first time – seeing cities from above made me feel like I was floating on a cloud. If you’re like me and would love to explore Zagreb from a bird's-eye view, then I suggest – ballooning.

What better way to discover Zagreb than going over the rainbow and feeling like a giant while taking great pictures for your Instagram profile? The whole adventure lasts 2-3 hours and after the flight, you will be welcomed back to the ground with a champagne breakfast or a brunch and a personalized, hand-written balloon flight certificates. Balloon club Zagreb has experienced pilots and will be there for you if this is your first time doing something like that.

Don’t forget to take your friends with you and make great memories during this epic adventure.

Colour yourself in an epic battle with your friends

I’m sure you’ve heard of paintball before and maybe you have even engaged in this game, but do you know why you should do it while you’re staying in Zagreb? Because how cool would it be to go back home and that, apart from telling your family of all the fun stuff you’ve seen, you could tell them about fun stuff you did? Moreover, paintball is a social game so it's a chance to get away from everyday life and spend some time with your friends and get to know new ones. For example, you’ve met some nice locals in Zagreb, so why not invite them to play with you and the group of friends you came with? You could even turn it into tourists versus locals battle

Just think of adrenalin rushing through your body while you and your team are strategizing how to beat your opponents. Even though you can play indoor paintball as well, I think it would be a lot more fun to do it outdoors since it’s another way of discovering what Zagreb has to offer. All that running through the woods, hiding behind inflatable bunkers, shooting opponents and getting shot as well - trust me, it’s a feeling that never gets old.

Wake up and board

Wakeboard might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but spring will be here before you know it. So if you’re planning a visit to Zagreb during these blossoming months, use it as an opportunity to go and see Wake Park at Jarun lake. It’s 490 meters long with 6 amazing obstacles intended for the crazy stunts done on the watery surface and with the most advanced equipment for the beautiful night rides. Fear not, though. If you’re a complete amateur and have never done this before, but have a desire to – Wake Park professionals are there for you. Whether you are a pro rider or just looking forward to a new adventurous experience, this experience will surely be a hard one to forget so you can be certain that trip to Zagreb will be unforgettable.
