Zagreb Fair - 12 Fairs for 12 Months
Fairs have had always a special place in everyday's life of Zagreb and its citizens. A long history of holding fairs started in 1242 when the King Bela IV issued the Gold Bull declaring Zagreb a free royal city and giving it the right to hold fairs. You can imagine how many fairs have been held up to date. Hereby, I am going to present you a usual yearly Zagreb Fair program. I have put them into 12 categories, symbolically for the period of 12 months. As extra, by the headings, you can easily recognize your favorites, read about it more or even decide to attend one.
1. Healthy Living
Healthy living fairs consist of three fairs. The first one is 'Organica & Kronoplja' – a healthy food fair, the second one is 'Apitera' – the fair of beekeeping, and the third one is 'Mystic' – the fair of alternative lifestyles. The main principles of this project are natural balance and healthy living. Today's lifestyle is characterized by speed of life. We don't have time for ourselves. Our body is limited, and it often shows us some 'alarming signs', even though we are trying to ignore it. If you choose a complementary way of living, rather than the conventional one, these fairs are the right place for you. Through holistic approach you'll get to know how to manage your life, you will learn about organic products, medical cannabis, benefits of bees products and much more.
2. Ethno Style
The Source is very first Fair of Counties, Autochthonous Products, Customs and Events that is going to be held this year. The concept of the fair is based on the presentation of all 20 Croatian counties and the City of Zagreb in order to feature the economic potential and the cultural heritage of the Republic of Croatia to the national and international public. If you are interested in traditions from the rich Croatian history, you can come and enjoy music, dance, ethno fashion and sports programs.
3. Need a new couch?
Ambienta is International Furniture, Interior Decoration, and Supporting Industry Fair. It is an important meeting point of manufacturers and traders of furniture and the equipment for interior and exterior design, of designers, architects, business people, experts and the media. It connects supply and demand sector and has a strong business and promotional effect. If you are an interior design and fashion lover you can visit this fair from 13th till 16th October in 2016, or from 11th till 15th October in 2017.
4. Books, books and more books...
At Interliber - International Book and Teaching Appliances Fair, Croatian and foreign star authors and publishers will present at the Zagreb Fair an exceptionally rich program of new editions from different fields. For all true books lovers, there will be numerous new titles, book presentations, interviews with authors with book signings, meetings of publishers, booksellers and librarians. You can also visit literary workshops, panel, and discussions. Fair is going to be held from 8th till 13th November this year. What is really cool is that admission to Interliber is free for all visitors.
5. Technology Baby ;)
International Multimedia fair presents recent technologies and gathers respectable names in multimedia and games industry. Reboot InfoGamer is part of this fair and an annual edition of the game show that is one of the truly biggest in Europe. The focus is usually on the newest and upcoming video games, hardware and gaming merchandise. If you would like to play a little or you are gadgets lover, you should definitely visit this fair from 9th till 13th November this year.
6. Innovation World
Inova - be a role model is an international invention show and a traditional national exhibition of innovations that tracks its work since 1971. It presents numerous Croatian and foreign innovations, new products and young people’s innovations accompanied by a range of events and an especially attractive program of awards. It is also the third oldest exhibition of innovations in the world. If you are in search for ideas, visit this dynamic fair from 9th till 12th November this year.
7. Rock the Boat
In the full four pavilions, water lovers will present a superb range of yachts, boats, kayaks, inboard and outboard engines, diving, sailing and other water sports. You will be able to see the traditional excellence of Croatian shipbuilders from 22nd till 26th February 2017.
8. Food Porn
This International Fair of Gastronomy, Hotel and Restaurant Equipment, Food, Drinks and Gastronomic Innovations is going to be held from 22nd till 26th February 2017. This is a great opportunity to promote Croatian and foreign companies from the HoReCa sector in one place. You will also get to see traditional state competition of 10 best Croatian chefs, Pizza show, and have a lot of food to taste. Hungry already?
9. Beauty Queen
Days of Beauty and Fitness is the leading event in the region for professionals in the field of beauty. It is an international platform for the cosmetics, wellness, fitness, and hairstyle industry. Along with many different competitions, you can treat yourself with some treatment, renew cosmetic bag with special prices, and find out what are the new trends in the upcoming season. Book for this fair from 10th till 12th March 2017.
10. Energize
Three fairs give an important stress on issues like energy-saving technologies and increasing awareness of energy use and heat and energy efficiency. Interklima is a leading regional fair of equipment for heating, cooling, air conditioning and treatment of drinking water. Energetics focuses on the area of renewable energy sources and represents an important platform for manufacturers and distributors. Green building is all about planning and construction of objects in the environmentally friendly way. You can pay a visit from 4th till 7th April 2017.
11. Going Green
Protection Fairs are covered by two fairs being held at the same time, from 4th till 7th April 2017. Interprotex is an international fair of protection that brings topics like environmental protection, eco-technology, and municipal equipment. Ekotehno is an international fair of energy, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. This is the right place to see where we stand as a community versus responsibility towards nature. And maybe a personal call for living 'green'.
12. Olden but Golden ;)
This is the name of the three fairs that are usually held in May. First fair is called 'The right time' – a fair for 50+ generation. It brings important answers about the creative use of leisure time, providing care in old age, financial security and intergenerational communication. It is a place where you can get an information about homes for the elderly and other institutions like health resorts and spas. If you care about the quality of life in older age, you should visit this fair from 18th till 20th May 2017.
Pick & Pack!
Another two fairs are closely connected. Intergrafika is an international fair of printing and paper, while Modernpak is an international fair of packaging. In one place you will get a comprehensive insight into the latest trends and innovations from both industries, direct business contacts and various meetings from 31st May till 3rd June 2017.
