Why are Sunny Sundays Perfect for a Road Trip to Zagreb?
When you arrive in Zagreb, make sure you park your car near the main square. Why? Because I’ll show you what fun things you can do in and around the main square.
First of all, coffee break! You have probably travelled for a while, and you’ll need a refreshment. Well, a nice warm cup of coffee and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice sounds just about right, doesn’t it? In Croatia, drinking coffee is almost a sacred ritual, as everybody likes to sip it for hours on end and hang out with friends. So, your first stop has to be Tkalciceva Street. It is a popular place to enjoy the sun and enjoy a good cup of coffee. There are numerous coffee shops, and the choice is yours. Personally, I like to choose different coffee shops everytime I get there, and I am never disappointed!
Also, if you get hungry, but forgot to bring food with you, don’t panic! Tkalciceva Street is filled with restaurants in which you can eat all sorts of food, from fast food to the restaurant food. Yummy!

Alright, let’s get started!
After having a drink and a good meal, you should start your day with an awesome Grounded Solar System monuments. You should make a tour of it because you’ll find the monuments of planets all across the city. This way, you’ll visit a lot of places and have fun, too. The size of the grounded planets, as well as their distances, are proportional to actual sizes of the planets and their distances from the Sun. All of the locations are reachable by public transport or a car. Read more about the Grounded Solar System and the locations of the planets here.
The Grounded Solar System tour will exhaust you and make you want to sit and relax. Do you remember I mentioned earlier to pack your backpack? You should definitely pack a blanket as well, as you’ll need it to experience relaxation in the way Zagrebians like to experience. I’m talking about St Roch's park! It is located above Britanac Square, in the Upper Town. Its location is perfect for relaxation before continuing your day in Zagreb because you’ll easily find your way to next activities! St Roch's park is a beautiful park with several meadows where you can spread your blanket and enjoy the sun while it lasts. But, don’t fall asleep, your day isn’t over yet!

Museums that will turn your world upside down
After your break, it’s time to continue your fun day with visiting Musem of Broken Relationships or Museum of Illusions, both located in the Upper Town, not far from St Roch's park. I know you don’t want to spend the rest of your day in some boring museum but think for a moment. Do names of these museums sound boring to you at all? Well, it’s because they’re not! These museums are my favourite museums because they’re amazing. Museum of Illusions is a fascinating museum filled with all sorts of illusions for you to try out. I mentioned before to pack your camera too, remember? This is a place where you’ll use it most of the time, as you won’t be able to resist the urge to take a photo of pretty much every illusion.
On the other hand, Museum of Broken Relationships sounds a little depressing, but it’s absolutely fascinating. It's exhibits include personal items left after broken relationships which people donate, along with stories how and why they ended them. You’ll find a bunch of interesting stories that’ll inspire you and think about memories of your past relationships. All sorts of things end up in this museum, from stuffed toys to most unusual things people got in their relationships - an axe, stiletto shoes, thermometer, handcuffs, cookies and others. Have I awakened your interest for these museums? I think I did!
So, this is what a perfect sunny Sunday in Zagreb looks like if you ask me. Lots of fun and activities - just perfect to forget that Monday is coming the next day. I hope you'll like my recommendations, as I really wanted to make your Sunday into a fun-day. Have a nice road trip to Zagreb!
