„Coprnice“ is an old Zagrebian term for witches, and this town has a long history of witches.  It is a very common motive in Croatian folklore.  In fact, one of the Zagreb's most famous women in literature, Marija Jurić Zagorka has written a lot of stories about them based on true documented cases of witch trials. Now, we can't confirm that these poor women were witches indeed, but they've drawn a lot of attention during the 16th and the 17th century in Zagreb.
